Vanmorgen werden twee aardbevingen waargenomen in de Centrale Middellandse Zee, vlakbij Malta. De eerste schok vond plaats rond 9:50 uur en had een kracht van 4.2 op de schaal van Richter. Kort daarna volgde een tweede, zwaardere beving met een kracht van 4.9.
